Notice Board

Coaching Applications now Open

If you wish to apply to coach one of the High Wycombe Junior football club teams you will need send in an application along with evidence of your accreditiation (Coaching certificate and working with Children) or speak to Mark about how to progress these requirements.  All coaches will be required to attend an interview with the clubs nominated Coaching Selection Panel.

AGM Outcomes

The AGM was held onTuesday 18th October at 7pm at the Scott Reserve Club Rooms.  We had 17 people attend which is 2 more than the Quorum of 15 required.  THis is a pretty poor number considering we had 300 kids play football for us in the recently completed season.  This AGM was the second attempt at holding the meeting after a quorum of members did not attend the originally scheduled meeting.

Firstly, the club through Mark Brinkworth (President) and Kevin Hort (Patron) paid tribute to the 2010 volunteers both on and off the committee.  Once the positions were declared vacant there were some long term volunteers who gave notice of their intention to not re seek election by declining their nominations.  This included our Registrar and life member Morag Race, our secretary Jodie Bain, our treasurer Alison Rhodes, and committee member Sue Outridge.   (On behalf of the club I would like to thank you all for the wonderful job you have done over the years)

The Committee positions filled at the AGM were:

President - Mark Brinkworth

Vice President - Aaron Savory

Property Officer - Craig Gosling

General Committee - Kim Wyatt, Andy Cooke and Georgie Doyle.

Congratulations to these people and the club thanks you for putting your hand up to help out.

Where does that leave us…..   The club has the following positions vacant

Secretary

Treasurer

Publicity Officer

Sponsorship and Fundraising Co-Ordinator

Jr Vice President (we wont look at filling this position)

Asst Secretary (we wont be looking at filling this position)

What we need from our Parents

Obviously the first thing we need is for additional people to put their hand up and join the committee.  We need 4 people to fill the above positions and ensure there is a club available to cater for your kids this coming year and in the future.

Mark and Aaron are planning to break down some of the roles and responsibilities and will be lookign for addiitonal volunteers to take on some specific tasks.  If these volunteers are not forthcoming then we will not be offering these and some of our peripheral services.

To cater for less volunteers fees will be going up and we are considering that we will not accept registraion of players without full payment of fees at the time of registration.  The registration process and days will be strict as we do not have the help required to chase people down.  We will also be requiring each player to nominate the help that their parents are going to provide during the season on game days or at the club in general.

If you want your kid to play football at High Wycombe you need to become involved.

Some of the duties that we need volunteers for each week for each team include:

Coach

Manager

Assistant Coach

Parent Umpires

Goal Umpires

Boundary umpires

Water Carriers

People to Set up Grounds

People to set up Club

People to Pack up grounds

People to help pack up club

Spectator monitors

Team property Officer

Timekeeper

Interchange Steward (Youth Teams)

Some other onfield Volunteers required for the following:

Auskick Gala Days

End of year Wind up Presentation

Photo Organiser and Coordinator

Auskick Co-ordinators (Thank you to Janine, Samantha and Dion for being organised and volunteering early for this role)

Director of Coaching (Thank you to Russell Banks for volunteering to do this role for us)

As mentioned there are many on last years committee who dont have children still participating in the running of the club so where are the parents of the 300 kids we have playing?  Dont say its someone elses responsibility it is yours.

Please contact Mark Brinkworth on 0432259096 to volunteer your services.

Changing our Constitution

The committee recognises that our current constitution is outdated and inhibits the general ongoing operation of the club in an efficient manner.  This will be a large task and while we would ideally like to get this done in time for this years AGM this may not be possible.  However, we need to make a tsrat on this otherwise it will never get done.  We are seeking current members, life memebers and relevant stakeholders to provide input.  Please submit any input through the committee.

We envisage that we will replace the constitution in total and start from a fresh standard that is the base for modern clubs and make changes as required.  Some of the key aspects in our new constituion that we are looking at include(please note these items are all up for discussion and no decisions have been made in relation to the committees posiiton on these):

  • Defined Executive committee with additional powers - some decisions require quick action and decisions in particular durting the season and as such we need to be able to make these so smooth operation of the club can occur.  This will also attempt to reduce the burden on committee in fulfilling their duties.
  • Reduction in numbers required for a quorum at a general committee meeting
  • Coaches and Managers to have a separate meetings and be part of a defined sub committee and they would vote to have delegates on the main committee.  The number of delegates will need to be decided and discussion will be around one Youth, one Junior and one Auskick representative.
  •  Reduse the official posiitons on th ecommitte and have general committee elected to perform certain duties - by not having a voted position we have better flexibility on how to achieve and manage tasks required to keep the club running smoothly.

Next Committe Meeting

Our next committee meeting will be held on Tuesday the 29 th November at 7pm.  All welcome.
